Open Monday & Tuesday 10-4 pm Interesting little museum Lovely staff. Make sure you watch the film at the beginning. Have a good read of the information cards. St Bartholomew the Less church is just next door as is the Amazing Hogarth staircase and beautiful hall with list of people who have donated money to St Barts over the years. St Bartholomew the Great is also near by and in my opinion one of the best churches in London, it is often used for films and TV series, Four Weddings and a Funeral being one. A fantastic area to explore along with Smithfield market.
What a lovely museum. Not large, but very interesting. Definitely watch the video when you come in. I believe I would have enjoyed it regardless, but the context makes it a much richer experience. I got a little tearful, it was very inspiring to learn about the passion and care for those in need.
A fascinating look into the past of this great hospital on how it was funded and some of the tools used in medicine. Visit the great hall which is in a separate building which has some fantastic murals and the names of all the past benefactors. Free to visit.
Great little museum full of the last 900 years of St. Bartholomew's history. Recommend visiting and the staff are most welcoming.
Very interesting small museum to lear more about this historic hospital! The volunteer on the door was friendly, knowledgeable and happy to answer my questions! And the gem of it all: the beautiful staircase painted by William Hogarth!
