Beautiful ruins, free to enter. Our five-year-old had a blast exploring the grounds and the nearby duck pond. Worth a short stop if you're near St. Dogmael's/Cardigan.

The Abbey ruins are interesting and free to wander around. (Interpretive panels need refurbishment.) The visitor centre contains stones and artifacts from ancient times. The friendly café (The Coach House) offers hot drinks, pastries and light meals, including some vegan options. Indoor and outdoor seating. The shop has gifts, books and local crafts, preserves and artwork.

A huge area of ruins from the Abbey. A special place, and I recommend a visit. No entry fee, and you will find it has a nice peaceful feeling to it.

A fantastic educational day out for the family! We visited on 27 October and the kids absolutely loved exploring the ruins and learning about the people who lived here centuries ago. The site is packed with history, it was founded in 1120 by the Tironensian Order (the only one of its kind in Wales!). It’s fascinating to see the different building structures; you can still see the tall 13th-century walls of the nave and the 16th-century Tudor north transept. One of the most unique features we found was the rare vaulted crypt at the east end, which is quite unusual for Welsh abbeys. There are even medieval floor tiles still visible in some sections! There is a small car park directly in front of the Abbey, but it was full when we arrived. If you have an EV like us, we found a great alternative at the St Dogmaels High Street car park just a short walk away. It has Dragon Charging points which worked perfectly for our ID.5 while we explored the ruins and lunch from The Coach House.
