The palace rooms are wonderful as is the outside of the palace. St George's Chapel closes at 04.00 PM so if you arrive in the afternoon you can start visiting the chapel which is right at the entrance then visit the castle

It was lovely to visit this during the school holiday. It was busy on entry but it was organised and didn't take too long to get inside. Make sure you have comfortable shoes on there is a lot of walking within the chapel and Windsor to do. Get a ticket before you go and remember to check what time you can enter because if you go too early they won't let you in.

An absolutely stunning and historically rich masterpiece inside Windsor Castle. The moment you step inside, you’re surrounded by breathtaking Gothic architecture, beautifully carved stonework, and an atmosphere filled with centuries of royal history. This is the resting place of several British monarchs, and standing in such a significant space is both humbling and unforgettable. The stained-glass windows are extraordinary, and the level of craftsmanship throughout the chapel is simply remarkable. Despite being a popular site, the chapel still feels peaceful and contemplative. The staff are knowledgeable and respectful, adding to the experience without rushing visitors. If you’re visiting Windsor Castle, St George’s Chapel is an absolute must-see — one of the most impressive and meaningful places in the UK. Unfortunatly it is not open to the public.

I came to Salisbury for the cathedral but fell in love with this chapel. I sat down for the last of the service one evening and they were kind to allow me to take a look before closing. I returned the next two days to just sit and enjoy. Highly recommend!!
