Lovely walk around the lake. Good food and service in the visitor centre which also has a nice little shop. Interesting archaeological finds and varied activities are available. Lovely view across the lake from the café. Great for birdspotting.

A lovely place to visit and you can wander around for hours or just 20 minutes. It was very peaceful and some nice sculptures dotted around. The cafe was good with outdoor seating looking over a lake.

Really enjoyed the Roman event at this unknown gem. Wonderful playground for children with lots of equipment. Nice little shop, reasonably priced. Cafe is good, though fairly expensive. Small little Heritage museum with some artifacts. Really nice trails with much wildlife to be seen and some fun sculptures. Some great sounding workshops. Only thing to pay for is parking (and refreshments or workshops!)

Located within a beautiful nature reserve and surrounded by lakes and open grassland, Stanwick Lakes is a fantastic place for a full day out. There are well maintained walking trails and cycling paths, plus plenty of picnic spots and BBQ facilities, you can enjoy a relaxing stroll, get some exercise, let the kids burn off energy, and have a barbecue all in one visit. The children’s play area is especially impressive. It caters to different age groups and includes a large wooden adventure playground, climbing frames, a giant slide, rotating swings, rope nets, an artificial stream, and a sand play area. There’s plenty of space for kids to explore, climb, jump, and enjoy water and sand play in a safe outdoor environment. Stanwick Lakes combines natural scenery with thoughtfully designed play facilities, making it an ideal destination for families looking to spend quality time outdoors. Highly recommended for a fun and active family day out.

Honestly one of the best days out I've ever had with my daughter. Gorgeous, well maintained paths everywhere. Bird hides to watch over the lakes (while she napped). A big, airy cafe with delicious coffee. Lovely museum with staff who clearly adore what they do! We had so much fun talking to the people who were making a dugout canoe with bronze age tools, and exploring the garden, especially after seeing the spinning and weaving and learning about the plants that make the dyes. My daughter adored playing in the adventure play, of course. There's running water and sand, cute little play beach huts, a mural, slides, more than enough to entertain a toddler for hours! It was really lovely and plenty of seating and shade all around. We will definitely be back with my husband for another full day and hopefully add in some cycling 😊😊 Overall, really cannot say enough about how great the site was but even more so how wonderful every staff and volunteer was everywhere we went during our visit. The kindness, patience, and passion was just beyond what you could ask and we really appreciate it!
