Visited here on a whim as I was in the area. Absolutely stunning surroundings. The best part without a doubt was the tour of the house! The tour guide (I'd call a 'story teller', best I have heard in a very long time), was fantastic! Stories of the families and the visitors here, Queen Victoria, Jane Austen and some I won't spoil the surprise on ;) You'll need to hear them to believe them!

I was attending a 50th wedding anniversary afternoon tea at the Abbey. Wonderful food and a lovely member of staff giving us personal attention throughout our stay. A perfect setting. Overall, well worth a trip for a tour around the house and walks in the grounds. There is a tea cafe in the house but I had no need to make use of it.

My daughter and I had Afternoon Tea here. The food was really fresh, warm scones too. When we entered we were warmly greeted by the lovely staff. Once seated we were asked if we had any allergies (my daughter has an egg allergy) Then we were asked to choose which cake we would prefer (3 offers on the day we were there) The sandwiches and scones were very filling so they wrapped the pieces of cake for us to take with us. Sarah was our server and what a lovely lady. Definitely recommend the Afternoon Tea and a walk around the gardens too.

A place loaded by history with a superb architecture both externally and internally. Superb natural views and surroundings, situated on the banks of river Avon. The guide ( Paul ) know his job and the as beyond expectations... One of the best guided tours ever... We visited the house, the chapel, we enjoyed an English afternoon tea in the Vault, walked by the river and enjoyed the nature... Going through the rooms, and seeing what time preserved and history marks you can have a glimpse of an extinct era... Worth visiting! Recommend!

Beautiful, peaceful estate and the best tour I’ve had in England. What a great guide, using tones and animation in his presentation while reciting letters and quotes. Paul was really passionate; he made the tour feel almost like a theatre experience but in a castle. Lovely afternoon tea and great service. Highly recommend.
