Yes there are some stunning views on the walk past the gliding centre to the white horse. Most enjoyable. However be aware the walk down and back up from the lake not so pleasant. The path is very steep, uncared for and overgrown. When you get to the lake it's OK but not stunning. Consider when going if you really want to go to the lake.

Wonderful place for walks. Scenic. Fantastic views. Beautiful nature everywhere. Great for horse riders, cyclists and walkers. Plenty parking , but struggled to get parked at weekend, and parking price far too expensive. I feel that the parking should be cheaper and based on time thete and pay on way out, but you need to estimate the time your going to be there. So for two hours we ended up paying £6.00.

Gorgeous walk out. Easy paths to go along with cycle trails running parallel to footpaths. Could do with easier access to trail maps,a walk around the centre didn't offer any guidance so we headed off and hoped for the best, we thoroughly enjoyed our walk out but was pot luck where we went! Fantastic views today, helped greatly by the weather. Food from the cafe was good, reasonably priced. Took about 30mins for a scone, sandwich and sausage roll to arrive at 12.30pm. Parking is fair, £3.80 for 2hrs. Would like the option to pay this in cash but that's personal preference. Ice cream felt expensive at £3.50 a scoop, tasted fine but not 'wow'. We stayed 2.5hrs and will go back to explore more, might even take the bikes next time.

It is certainly a very lovely view. The dog had a great time, we were walking with son and daughter in law for a catch up and it didn't disappoint. The cafe was expensive for what it was, but clean and tidy. The airfield was in full use with gliders galore taking off. The weather was beautiful and the views were splendid. Will keep looking around the same area for other walks.
