Walked down the hill from village and then up the steps. Views are great with a few information boards, nothing else there but worth a little visit

It's a nice little place to visit for thirty minutes to an hour.Not much left of the building but still interesting.All the

English Heritage site. Free entry, no parking on site but dog friendly. Mote and bailey castle ruins situated in a quaint village location. Parking is available in the village.

Dramatically situated ruins (which is free to visit) with a great vantage point overlooking the surrounding countryside and weald. It's a short walk from the village, then up some steps to the castle where you'll also find a few information boards outlining its history. The village itself is very attractive and worth a look around while you're visiting. There are also a few cosy welcoming pubs in the village that are also worth a visit with great hospitality and food etc. The roads are narrow and there is not much parking around so a good idea to visit away from peak times.

It's only a small site and the only visible remains of what was once a larger complex. Parking is minimal in the village. There is a place on Tumblers Hill about a 5 minute walk but again that has limited spaces. A couple of information boards and more history on the website. Somewhere to stop off on the way to somewhere else. Plenty of steps too
