Become a Family MemberCould do with more signage, as the elderly or disabled will need the lift and clear direction to toilets. The exhibition was brilliant and such a good idea to set the main hall out like a cabaret to match the theme. Friendly person on door. They may do better with more merchants on sale. Financially, I mean. And more space to sit to watch the video of the interview with the artist? Its a long video so if there are two people already there, you might have to wait a long time. Another option would be to have the video in two places.
A great visit to Talbot Rice gallery, staff were friendly and helpful. The exhibition was incredible (Wael Shawky) highly recommend a visit.
Talbot Rice Gallery offers a unique mix of contemporary and historical art in a striking architectural setting. I really appreciated the curatorial choices, the exhibitions were thought provoking and well presented, with helpful wall texts and a clear thematic narrative. The building itself is also beautiful, especially the neoclassical Georgian gallery. It’s a relatively small space, so it doesn’t take long to explore, but it’s definitely worth the visit if you’re near the University of Edinburgh. I would have loved to see a bit more interactive or multimedia content, but overall, a lovely experience and a great addition to the city’s cultural scene.
A beautiful gallery space in the Georgian room. Brilliant exhibition this time from the artist El Anatsui, showing work created using metal from bottle tops. The huge and colourful sheets have the most amazing details and show a huge effort to create. Entrance is free, and there is on street parking very close by the university building.
First visit to Talbot Rice hidden away in the midst of Edinburgh university x Really enjoyed the exciting and unusual art work, installations and film, the beautiful gallery and staircases. Staff were warm and welcoming as we've found in all our art gallery visit this week. Be aware a lot of steep stairs but there is lift access for disabled visitors.
