Ride restored steam trains through the Welsh countryside at this heritage railway and visitor centre celebrating industrial railway history.

Tanat Valley Light Railway is a preserved heritage railway and multi-themed country park set within the Nant Mawr Visitor Centre. Operating as a registered charity, the venue showcases the historic Tanat Valley Light Railway, which originally connected Llynclys Junction in England to Llangynog in Wales as the first cross-border light railway of its kind. Visitors can experience restored railway rides along the 2-mile track bed, explore the Nant Mawr Lime Kilns, enjoy the Green Stage venue, and discover the Monorail. The site incorporates 25 acres of adjoining land developed as a country park suitable for all the family. The Clacton Cafe provides refreshments for visitors throughout their visit. The venue welcomes families with all amenities including dog-friendly areas and pushchair access, making it accessible for visitors from newborns upwards. Open most Saturdays from 10am to 4pm, with weekday visits available by prior arrangement. The railway operates volunteer weekends and occasionally runs special steam events, offering both educational insights into railway preservation and hands-on family experiences.

A fascinating heritage railway NR Oswestry. Open at weekends it's run by volunteers who want to restore the old Potts line (quarry railway) various rolling stock, plenty of parking, toilets, and cafe/shop on site.train rides Inc the world's only mono loco. It's well worth a visit also they have a website. And run special events you can follow them on Facebook. Volunteers are always welcome

A really lovely railway with some of the nicest and interactive volunteers on site that are willing to show you around, as well as give you a ride on their monorail.

Really interested place, staff where super friendly and helpful, a very interesting collection of heritage trains, The cafe is in an old emu carriage, they have a mono rail which was very unique to ride on, it's a little hard to find but worth it,

My ww2 reenactment group attended the inaugural ww2 event that the tvlr held. Yes there were some hiccups but it was the first event. Very difficult to find the place, needs much better signage out on the roads of the area. Satnav takes you down a private road that has no access to the site. Lovely place though nestled in a valley.
