What a hidden gem this is. So much to see. The guy that runs the museum is fab. Taking time to talk to visitors. The collection he has is massive. Based in the old goods depot and filled with treasures of days gone by Unfortunately cash is king applies here and we couldn't leave a donation. The museum is free to enter, so reliant on the generosity of visitors.
Fascinating place full of links to the Wolverhampton's past, hard to believe how much is crammed in this place, the team that run it are really knowledgeable and approachable. And it's free!
“Unexpected”, was what I heard from a mother and daughter who were coming out of the exit, and that’s exactly how I would have described it too. We came in with a toddler and dog, and were welcomed with open arms. It’s free entry, and takes cash donations. The staff were wonderful, encouraging my niece to sit in all of the cockpits (any that have steps are accessible). There were Sunbeam bicycles, WWII planes, model train sets. It’s amazing how much stuff they’ve managed to pack into here. Would thoroughly recommend for a 15-45 minute visit. Combine it with a trip down the Smestow Valley nature reserve path and a cake at the cafe next door. Easily a couple hours spent in this area. Watch for parking - there’s not enough on the weekend for how popular this area gets!
Brilliant little gem just down the road from me. Talked to Pete who explained alot and enjoyed the planes and other history of Tettenhall! Plus nice lil cafe just closeby with toilets if u are paying customer just ask for the key (: free parking, closes at 5-6pm if u wanna walk by the brook.
Well worth a visit! Free parking, free entry and they don't charge to get out so... what's the catch? Well there isn't one if you love old toys, books, little planes, motorbikes, push bikes and all other forms of technology from days gone by, but, made in the Black Country!! Only open weekends from 10am to about 4pm from memory. It's a small place packed with things to look at and possibly climb into?!!? We all loved it, it's a great little find! 😃
