Nice little reserve to walk around. The path was wide enough to walk around side by side. Suitable for prams and wheelchair users. Takes roughly 10-15 minutes on a easy relaxing stroll.

Thacka Reserve is nice little oasis of calm in the bustling town of Penrith! It is part of the flood defences and creates a pond and wetlands for birds animals and plants, I often see Deer first thing in the mornings and the grasslands are usually home for 6 old English cows ( Belted Galloways presently) It lays beside the railway line so you can also watch the different types of trains coming and going through! This in no way detracts from the reserve itself.

Too many selfish folk let dogs off so they don't have to pick up after them and the paths are beginning the yearly overgrowth. Otherwise not a bad area for a walk.
