Had a great day here in the rain, it doesn't matter if it's raining if you are in the pool or the hot bath. There is a sauna, steam room and cold showers too. A lovely high ceilinged restaurant and bar area overlooks the pool through picture windows.
We love Thames Lido! Hidden gem outside of London. Great swim, massage & dine packages. Had a beautiful swim & a soak followed by a relaxing massage from therapist Paulinao, thank you. Lunch was fantastic. Varied menu with flavoursome dishes and fantastic service. And a very innovative fan system for those warm summer days. Compliments to the wonderful team at the Lido ~ very professional. Looking forward to returning again soon!
The swim and lunch package is great fun. Having a nice steak lunch after some recuperation time in the pools and sauna should definitely be on your weekend bucket list! The facilities were clean and very well maintained. The staff were very friendly and helpful, they kindly showed us where everything was and how things worked.
It is a cute spot, the clientele are all friendly, it felt very safe people had phones out on the side and were chatting freely. It was busy!! When we got there there were no locker spaces, very limited changing rooms and not much space to swim or sit in the hot tub or sauna but this did clear down as we stayed on and towards our dinner slot at 2000 we almost had it to ourselves and it was beautiful. The jacuzzi didn’t have bubbles and was just warm, the sauna had 3 levels not overly hot but a temp I liked. The pool was heated and was lovely to swim in. There was an ice bucket to pull over you too! If you were brave. The food was nice: I wouldn’t say amazing but it was nice, the menu is quite limited depending what your taste is, we were quite flexible but it was a bit disappointing that a soft drink and side wasn’t included with our £45 swim and dine package as our bill ended up as £125 for two as we added drinks and a side and they added 12.5% service which we could have removed but the service was friendly and attentive so didn’t seem fair too. I don’t think we’d return but we enjoyed the trip! It felt expensive for what it was, especially at the start when it was busy but I can’t really fault anything that much either.
Visited Thames LIDO in Reading on 21 March for the swim and dine package and overall had a good experience. The reception staff were friendly and welcoming, and the 3 hours of parking included was a nice bonus. The changing area was a little small but clean, and the pool area was relaxing. The main pool felt a bit cool getting in and is quite shallow, so it is better for leisure than serious swim training. The hot tub was great, but too small for demand, and we had to wait around 30 minutes for a space. The outdoor seating area could also be bigger. The restaurant had a nice atmosphere, but service was a little mixed. We were initially given the wrong wine, and one dish we had swapped still came out anyway. The starters were tasty, but the mains were underwhelming, especially the hogget and aubergine dish. Overall, I would still recommend it as a good-value and relaxing experience, but I would probably avoid the mains next time.
