Watch native British birds of prey in spectacular free-flight shows across indoor and outdoor arenas, or join interactive flying experiences.

The British Bird of Prey Centre is the UK's only attraction dedicated entirely to native British birds of prey, located in Idole, Carmarthen. Open daily from 10am to 5pm, the centre features three flying shows scheduled at 11am, 1pm, and 3pm, where visitors witness owls gliding at eye level, red kites sweeping overhead, and falcons powering through the air in immersive free-flight displays. Between shows, families can explore the site to see birds living in spacious, natural enclosures. The centre emphasises animal welfare, with birds making their own choices daily and flying because they want to, ensuring every show feels authentic and unique. Visitors can learn the stories of individual birds and meet the dedicated team. For those seeking more involvement, the centre offers 30-minute group flying experiences where participants can step into the arena as a bird lands on their glove, as well as award-winning private sessions for dedicated time with the team and birds. The venue hosts special events throughout the year, from family fun days to themed experiences, and features a café for refreshments. Suitable for all ages and families, the centre combines education with thrilling wildlife encounters, promoting conservation awareness and creating unforgettable memories with these magnificent birds.

We had an absolutely fantastic visit to the British Bird of Prey Centre and can't recommend it highly enough. As a wheelchair user, I was so happy that I could access all areas of the center and participate in the flying sessions. A huge thank you to Ina, whose talks and flying demonstrations were the highlight of our visit. She was incredibly knowledgeable, engaging, and clearly passionate about the birds. Her commentary was informative, entertaining, and full of interesting facts, making the experience enjoyable for everyone. The group flying demonstrations were brilliant. Even when some of the birds decided they had other plans (as birds of prey often do!), Ina handled it with humour and professionalism. It actually made the demonstrations even more enjoyable, showing the birds' individual personalities and reminding everyone that these are magnificent animals, not performers. It was great fun and made the whole experience feel genuine and memorable. As a falconer myself, I really appreciated the standard of the demonstrations and the obvious care and respect shown towards the birds. It's always refreshing to see birds flown with respect and to listen to someone who is genuinely passionate and knowledgeable about what they do. A wonderful day out with beautiful birds, fantastic staff, and an experience that was both educational and entertaining. Thank you again to Ina and the whole team—we'll definitely be back!

I booked the private Eagle flying experience for my partners 50th birthday as a surprise and it was absolutely fantastic! We were made to feel like VIP’s the whole time and Simon was brilliant. The weather wasn’t great but Simon went out of his way to make sure we still got to fly using the indoor arena and outside when the weather permitted. We got a behind the scenes tour and a lovely coffee at the end of our experience. The birds are all lovingly cared for and each and every member of staff we met were so friendly and knowledgeable. We really enjoyed the flying shows, different birds flown at each show and lots of information given in an informative but fun way. We love birds of prey and have one ourselves, but we still come away from our visit having learned new things and cannot recommend The British Bird of Prey Centre enough! We wish you all the best for the future and will definitely be coming back. By far the best BOP place we have been to!

What a wonderful day here. We spent many hours here and it was so informative, the staff was absolutely wonderful, you could tell they loved what they do and took amazing care of the birds. We were able to catch the owl show and I was mesmerized. I would highly recommend, the prices were fantastic and such a good deal.

I cannot recommend the centre enough! My sister and I visited yesterday and did the owl experience. It really was one of the best days we've ever had. The team were knowledgeable and friendly. The respect and trust between the falconers and birds was a privilege to see. A special mention to our guide Ina whose enthusiasm and passion shone through. Set in a amazing location with spectacular views, this is such an important conservation project, please visit and support their work! We cannot wait to go back.

My 7 year old grandson Noah and I had a fantastic time doing the half day flying experience while his mum and nana spectated. What a great experience this was. We had a friendly welcome on arrival and after a drink in the Peckish cafe we watched the first of three flight demonstration that are included in the admission price. These demonstrations are great for photographers as the Falconer's ensure that the birds fly in full view if all spectators. It really is a thrill to have an eagle gliding inches above your head. The main event for us though was the opportunity to fly four birds in a private experience away from the crowds. Our falconer guide was Ina and she immediately focused on Noah to encourage him when he was initially a little nervous. In the two and a half hours we were involved in the experience we flew a Red Kite, a Kestrel, an Eagle Owl and to our great surprise a Kookaburra. We were taken through the fundamentals of falconry and were given the opportunity to walk with and fly these birds. Most importantly the needs of the birds were paramount and we were very impressed with the relationship Ina and the other staff have with the birds. In conclusion this was a great experience for all of us either taking part or spectating and one we would highly recommend.
