Amazing spot for climbing. The entire castle is a climbing gym with so many floors to explore. There’s also top rope and lead if I’m not wrong. And a small outdoor section.

Wow what an amazing time I’ve had here! The best rock climbing gym of all time! I truly believe anybody who comes here would love rock climbing so much they would have the best experience ever, and if you’re travelling from far make sure to go to the outdoor area! My favourite of the gym. Thank you so much for having me ! I am definetly coming back

The Castle is a great climbing center. I’ve been coming for many years and did both my top-rope and lead courses here, which I still recommend to friends. However, I am really disappointed by the decision to first convert many top-rope routes into auto-belays, and now the whole Stacks section into bouldering walls. Management’s replies to other comments cite ropes being underutilised, but I feel this misses the mark completely. By nature, bouldering has a fast turnaround. You climb for 30 seconds, rest, and go again. Even when crowded, people wait their turn. Top-roping takes time to set up and requires longer breaks. Just because a rope is empty doesn't mean it’s "underutilised." Many of us do come here specifically for ropes and it's sad to see the reduction in diversity of routes. As an example, I attached a photo of the Stacks on Saturday with the whole top section "underutilised", if that's the word they want to use. I loved the Lemon wall because the cavity introduced unique movements, but the new boulder section doesn’t even go up to the lemon bit. It’s a real shame, and it’s sad to be looking for alternatives to the Castle.

Safe environment with helpful staff and the cafe is a very nice place to relax before or after climbing. It has snack and meals. The shoes that you can rent are decent but could definitely get a refresher. The outside area isn’t big but has different climbs and they change the routes quite often.

We arrived for a family taster session with my 10 years old son. ❤️ With another 2 families we were welcomed at the café, where you can buy lots of yummy stuff if you need a power boost and you can shop for climbing shoes, chalk, etc. At the main building we were again welcomed by a lovely member of staff. 😊 In a designate area we waited for our instructor who turned out to be Ben. He was super calm, very friendly and helpful all the way. Within that 90 minutes we were able to try bouldering, climbing with ropes and see and feel how the autobelay works. The place itself is absolutely massive, loads of fun with plenty of options to climb for every level. We had a great time, thank you! 😁👍🏻
