A lovely stroll through Green Park after breakfast at Hide. Nestled between Buckingham Palace and Piccadilly, Green Park is one of London’s eight Royal Parks and is known for its open lawns, mature trees, and peaceful atmosphere. Unlike nearby Hyde Park and St. James’s Park, Green Park has no formal flower beds or lakes, giving it a more natural and tranquil character. It is the perfect place to slow down, enjoy the sunshine, and experience a quieter side of London. We were fortunate to visit on a beautiful summer morning. The park was bathed in sunlight, with majestic trees providing cooling shade across the vast green lawns. One of the highlights was spotting a friendly squirrel happily foraging through the grass - a common sight in London’s parks and always a delight for visitors. Walking beneath the canopy of centuries-old trees, it was easy to forget that we were in the heart of one of the world’s busiest cities. Near the park entrance, local artists displayed colourful paintings capturing iconic London landmarks such as Big Ben, Tower Bridge, and the red double-decker buses. Together with the peaceful scenery, they added a charming touch to our morning walk. A simple but enjoyable way to spend some time before continuing our London adventures.

I would give this place 1 star based on my personal experience. I expected a clean and well-maintained park, especially considering its location next to some of London’s most famous landmarks. Unfortunately, the overall condition was disappointing. Some grass areas looked overgrown and not properly maintained, and I noticed horse waste along walking paths, which made the experience less enjoyable. I understand that parks require ongoing maintenance and receive a large number of visitors every day, but for such a well-known location I expected a much higher standard of cleanliness and presentation. Everyone may have a different experience, but unfortunately this place did not meet my expectations at all.

Visiting The Green Park was a wonderful experience of quiet beauty. Unlike the other Royal Parks, it is unique for its lack of lakes and flower beds, consisting almost entirely of vast, rolling lawns and majestic ancient trees. This minimalist landscape creates a very peaceful and open atmosphere right in the heart of London, offering a direct and calm walkway between Piccadilly and Buckingham Palace. Walking beneath the grand canopy of plane trees and lime trees felt like a true escape from the surrounding city bustle. I especially enjoyed visiting the Canada Memorial and the RAF Bomber Command Memorial, which are both beautifully integrated into the park's natural setting. In the spring, the park undergoes a stunning transformation as millions of daffodils bloom across the grass, turning the entire area into a sea of yellow. Tips for your visit: • Piccadilly Gateway: Start your walk from the Green Park tube station entrance for a grand view of the tree-lined avenues leading toward the Palace. • Spring Daffodils: If you visit in March or April, this is one of the best spots in London to see a blanket of wild daffodils. • Royal Neighbors: Use the park as a scenic shortcut while visiting Buckingham Palace or Clarence House. • Relaxation: Because it’s so open, it is one of the best parks in central London to find a quiet spot on the grass to read or enjoy a picnic. The Green Park is a beautiful testament to the power of simple, natural landscapes. It’s a quiet, green lung that provides the perfect moment of calm in a busy day! 🌳🇳🇿

Such a pretty park! I love there is such a green area in a zone full of concrete. Be warned this is a congestion charge zone, if you decide to drive to the park. But, Green Park station is literally in front of the park, when exiting the station you enter the park directly (no crossing roads or anything). So that’s really amazing!

A Peaceful Escape in the Heart of London If you need a break from the hustle of Piccadilly or the crowds around Buckingham Palace, Green Park is the ultimate sanctuary. I stopped by for a lunchtime stroll today, and it was exactly what the doctor ordered. Unlike its neighbors, Green Park doesn't have the flashy flower beds or lakes—it’s just vast, rolling lawns and ancient trees—which gives it a much more relaxed, natural vibe. The Highlights: The Daffodils: They are in full bloom right now! It’s like a giant yellow carpet stretching across the grass. It’s easily one of the most beautiful sights in London during the spring. Atmosphere: Perfectly peaceful. Even though you’re right in the center of the city, the "green lung" effect is real. Convenience: It’s right next to the tube station, making it the easiest spot to grab a sandwich and sit in the sun (or rent one of the iconic striped deckchairs). Whether you’re a local looking for a quiet walk or a tourist needing a breather, this is the place to be. Don’t miss the blooms while they last! 🌼
