This place is an absolute gem tucked away behind a visitor centre and is well worth the effort to find. The butterfly house isn't huge as some have stated as a detriment for the entry fee but it's not about size. What it offers is an almost magical experience walking among a wide range of butterflies of varying sizes which fly around you constantly. You are even encouraged to dip a finger in the multiple containers of sugar water dotted around and try to tempt butterflies to land on you which gives a unique view of them you wouldn't get anywhere else! Also, they have a caterpillar house, stick insects, mantis and a few tarantulas to view while there. The staff are very friendly and helpful too making the whole experience worth every penny! A unique experience well worth taking the time to enjoy. Highly recommend.

A real gem, not huge but utterly magical as the name suggests. Staff really friendly and informative. Really fun trying to identify the butterflies from the guide, and there are so many. The delight of them landing in you is just as wonderful the tenth time as the first. Lovely scenic setting too with the reservoir across the road. Fabulous visit. Well worth the admission.

What a lovely little find on our holiday in mid-Wales. The lady on the till was very knowledgeable, welcoming and friendly and answered lots of questions. The butterfly house was stocked with lovely colourful tropical plants and butterflies. It was lovely that they encouraged you to carefully handle/feed them too as a lot of places don't allow it. Special mention to Chris (who's been there 3 years) he was just fabulous at his job , and again very welcoming and knowledgeable, happy to chat about the plants and butterflies. Refreshing to visit an attraction where the staff actually genuinely enjoy their job and it shows with their interactions with customers. Wouldn't hesitate to visit again if in the area ,but Norfolk is a long way to come from !!

Just a lovely experience - and dog friendly! I wasn't even a big fan of butterflies when we visited and decided to work a little on my phobia of insects by trying a bit of exposure. It was worth the try. I left the place with a big smile after having seen and touched not only butterflies but some seriously large stick insects, having learned interesting things about them from the very helpful and knowledgeable staff and having a new understanding of these creatures beyond seeing them on YouTube. It is clear the people working there love what they do and it makes you appreciate all the hard work that goes into maintaining a place of this kind. To all those who comment that it's overpriced I would say you need to look around you and appreciate all the effort that is involved.

This place is amazing. It is tucked away behind a visitor centre in astounding scenery and gives you an experience like no other. I have seen reviews saying it is a bit pricey for the size of the place but you are not paying for size you are paying for an experience. There are loads of different butterflies there to see, but also to interact with as well. Around the butterfly house are little pots of sugar water to dip your finger in and then you can attempt to get a butterfly to come onto your finger to feed on it. Some butterflies are more willing than others but my wife and I got quite a few to climb onto us. This is a truly amazing experience being able to see them so up close. I am disabled and was in a wheelchair and although we needed to be a bit selective of which route to use I was able to get to almost every part of it. The staff there are really friendly and helpful and know their stuff as well, and there is a good sized carpark so I really can't fault it at all. If you are ever in this area you need to go put this on your visit list.
