It had been about 30 years since I was last there so I was really excited for my son to see it. I wish I hadn't bothered. Within about 20 minutes my son was shivering and his lips were turning blue the pool was so cold. No matter how hard I tried to make the best of it, we had to leave. Only to discover the changing room I chose had no door so went to the one next door (with my freezing cold child to quickly get him dressed and warm) to discover no lock! Luckily the weight of my jacket hanging up held the door closed and covered the hole where theock should have been so we could both get changed.

Claims to have had improvements done but still exactly the same. I understand a lot of this work was to do with the plant that runs the place but you would think during the closure time they would do things such as make sure all lockers work, that changing room locks are A) actually on the door and B) working. Still a good day for the kids but even with the wave pool, flumes etc id still have to say its kinda average and lacks cleanliness/basic amenities

The new pool is a big improvement and looks much better than before, but the temperature is absolutely freezing. The outdoor areas—especially when walking up to the slides or over to the play area—are extremely cold. I saw many other parents shivering and commenting on how cold it was. Inside the pools it’s slightly better, but the water is still not at a comfortable temperature for staying in very long. I almost never get cold or even get blue lips from the cold, yet I had to get out and change after only 15 minutes. It’s such a shame, because I really like the setting and the overall design.

We visited the ice rink and the skating itself was enjoyable, however the experience at the end really let it down. When returning skates, staff repeatedly brought out duplicate shoes and seemed confused about who they belonged to. At one point, two boys were holding the exact same pair of shoes because no one knew who was meant to receive them. A staff member, who I later found out was called Holly, appeared flustered by the mix ups and told a girl beside me to “just remember who took your skates off you and that will be your shoes”. She spoke quite sharply. The customer responded calmly and appropriately, asking “shouldn’t the staff remember who took the skates off me?”. The employee then replied in an angry tone, “we have like 50 people all in our faces, we cannot remember you all”, before turning her back on us. People visibly reacted to how the customer was spoken to. Instead of apologising or resolving the issue, the staff member stood facing customers just inches away from the desk while talking to her co workers, openly criticising the customer and making her out to be at fault. I approached her afterward to ask her name, doing so calmly and politely. After giving it, she crossed her arms and raised her eyebrows in a dismissive manner, as if the situation did not concern her. The attitude and handling of customers was disappointing. I would not recommend based on this experience. Murrayfield ice rink is a better option.

Loved the whirl pool (lazy river without the donuts) and the slides but the yellow flume was closed both times I visited. Also the big donut slide was amazing but it lasts less than 30 seconds, wish it went on a little longer. Loved it though, but we just done the waterpark both times - my son wasn’t interested in the ice skating but they have a massive ice skating rink too which I would probably go to with my friends
