Tiddenfoot Waterside Park

Leighton Buzzard, United Kingdom•4.5(504)•Country Park, Nature Reserve

Explore a 13-hectare award-winning waterside park with a scenic lake, woodland trails, and wildlife habitats perfect for families and dog walkers.

Tiddenfoot Waterside Park is a sprawling 13-hectare countryside site that combines natural beauty with recreational opportunities. The park features a 3-hectare lake created from historical sand extraction, surrounded by grassland, scrub, willow woodland, and poplar plantations. A well-maintained surfaced path circles the entire site, making it accessible for visitors of all abilities, including those using pushchairs and wheelchairs. The park is designated as a County Wildlife Site due to its ecological importance, and has earned the prestigious Green Flag Community Award for being a well-managed, high-quality green space with free entry. The lake is particularly popular with anglers, managed by the Leighton Buzzard Anglers Club. Dogs are welcome throughout the park (when kept under control), and cycling is permitted on the paths. Visitors can enjoy picnicking at designated areas with additional seating scattered around the site. The park also hosts the popular Canal Festival each summer, a major local event. Managed in partnership with The Greensand Trust, Tiddenfoot Waterside Park offers families a peaceful escape into nature with excellent facilities for outdoor activities, wildlife spotting, and leisurely walks. The site is conveniently located near Mentmore Road with approximately 30 parking spaces available.

Nice walk around the lake and woodlands. Free parking but it's first come first served. Nothing there as in no facilities, No toilet or anywhere to buy a coffee. But otherwise we found it very nice. The day we visited it was Sunshine, blue skies and a little cool in the shade

This location is absolutely implausible, yet so gorgeous and appealing. My dog Bruno falls in love with the water instantly.

The best part of this place is the birds! Always an exciting spot to make. It would be even better with benches dotted all around so it is more accessible to walkers with disabilities and injuries, pregnant people and those with young children. There is a bench at the entrance to the area.
