Absolutely lovely museum! There was a lot more to see than I originally thought, and I loved how it was laid out. There's a one way system which means you can easily see every exhibit on offer, without missing anything, and neatly be brought back round to the shop. The staff were really friendly and knowledgeable and it was clear they were passionate about the history too. I 100% recommend this museum if you're nearby and have an hour or two to kill.
Great for a rainy day with the kids. Always friendly and well run. My only suggestion would be that some of the kids toys and games be more integrated with the artefacts so they engage more with the subjects.
This is one of the best museums I've visited. Friendly, fun and packed with exhibits, some of them familiar from my own childhood, some quite novel. Lots of local history. And culminating in the transport shed which includes a steam engine and a vintage Mini. It is so enjoyable. We went with a 99 year old. It's equally good for kids.
Lovely hidden gem of a museum. Lots of diffrent areas to look at and very interactive for children.
This is such an essential experience for anyone visiting Devon. It covers everything since prehistoric periods with an emphasis on how people lived. Open the whole year with Tourist Information also on offer, it hugely added to my enjoyment of visiting Devon.
