Ufton Fields Nature Reserve is a 31-hectare Site of Special Scientific Interest featuring diverse habitats including pools, marshes, grassland and woodland. Originally quarried for White Lias Limestone in the 1950s, the site was transformed into a thriving nature reserve and gifted to Warwickshire County Council in 1972. A circular, waymarked trail provides excellent access throughout the reserve, with feature points highlighting the special characteristics of this unique landscape. The reserve is renowned for its ecological importance and rare species. It is the most northern location in the UK where the Man Orchid can be found, and the lime-rich soil supports thriving plant communities, wildflowers and fungi. Visitors can discover diverse bird life, invertebrates, butterflies, dragonflies and damselflies, as well as water life including toads and newts. Ideal for families of all ages, the reserve offers free entry and is pushchair-friendly, making it accessible for visitors with young children. The car park is open 24 hours (no overnight parking permitted), and the outdoor setting provides a wonderful opportunity to connect with nature and learn about wildlife conservation. The venue prioritizes visitor safety and wellbeing, with rangers maintaining the grounds and comprehensive health and safety guidelines in place.

Never been here before. Went as it was wheelchair accessible. It was a lovely place to walk around and shelter from the heat. If I went again, I would choose a different time of year (not May) as the mosquitos were rife and I have been bitten all over. Also my elderly father came with us and it was disappointing that there were hardly any benches for him to stop and rest on. Could do with more.

A great place to walk your dog. But please pick up your dogs 💩 it's not fair on those of us that do. There is a bin in the car park to dispose of poo bags.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Ufton Fields is a peaceful and beautiful nature reserve, perfect for a quiet walk and connecting with nature. The wide open fields, woodland areas, and lovely skies at sunset make it a calming spot for photography and relaxation. It’s not overly crowded, which adds to the sense of tranquility. You can spot a variety of birds and wildlife if you walk slowly and pay attention. There are well-marked paths, and the reserve feels safe and welcoming for both solo visits and family walks. A great escape into nature just outside Southam!

Awesome place to visit. Flat 2 mile circuit in dry weather, not sure how muddy it will be after some rain. Some thought provoking signs around to help you ponder nature. Good parking, free but relatively limited spaces, we waited 5 minutes to get one. Our dog loved it and met plenty of canine and human admirers whilst we went round.
