Vauxhall Park is an elegant medium-sized Victorian park located between Vauxhall and Stockwell, serving the diverse local community. Originally opened by HRH The Prince of Wales in 1890, the park stands on land once home to notable figures including Henry Fawcett and his wife Millicent, a leader of the Suffragist Movement. The park was designed by Fanny Rollo Wilkinson, one of the first female British landscape architects, and retains many of its original features while celebrating its unique historic character. The park offers excellent facilities for families, including a large children's play area that was completely redesigned and renewed in 2020, alongside the newly created Fawcett Sensory Garden. Additional amenities include tennis and basketball courts, a multi-use games court, and an on-site café. The park also features a dedicated dog exercise area, an orchard, and the Lavender Garden created in 2003 to mark the centenary of the Vauxhall Motor Company. Recognized for its outstanding quality and maintenance, Vauxhall Park is a Green Flag Award winner, holds a Green Heritage Award, and was named 'Park of the Year' by London In Bloom. The park is free to enter and open from 7:30am until 15 minutes before sunset, making it an accessible destination for families, dog owners, and visitors of all ages seeking a safe, welcoming green space with rich historical significance.

A lovely day of volunteering, harvesting lavender with Friends of the Park to help raise funds for the park. It's always rewarding to spend time with such a great team while supporting our local green space. 💜🌿

Vauxhall Park is a lovely, well-kept green space that stands out for its beautiful gardens. The volunteer gardening group does an amazing job, everything is vibrant, tidy, and clearly cared for with real dedication. Their work brings a strong sense of community and makes the park a genuinely enjoyable place to spend time.

A great space with great gardens, trees and playground. Great to walk your dog and go for a run. And cafe is really good too. Very reasonable priced with great food and coffee.

Opened as a public park in 1890 after promotion by prominent “social reformers”, Philanthropists and society hostesses. Retaining mostly its original landscaping profile/pathway network with a modern playground, café, all-weather game courts, expansive lawn and a contemporary “lavender garden.” Evidences a “high-level” of maintenance and management and easily rates as one of Greater London’s best small parks.

This is a regular place for me to visit, either to walk, relax, or exercise. There are lots of pathways to take you in different directions. There is a beautiful fenced garden with lavender and plenty of seating. Also the mini houses are great for kids! There is a large children's play area and plenty of seating nearby for parents and carers. The fountain is well maintained in summer and kids love it!
