Vines Park sits right there on the edge of Droitwich with a really handy mix of open grass, a solid playground and space for a casual kickabout or picnic. Paths wind through the planted areas and there’s a bit of everything for different ages, plus it links up nicely with the nearby canal if you fancy stretching the walk. It’s got that unpretentious local feel, easy to drop into for an hour without any big crowds or planning. 🌳👟✨
A lovely park with a nice canal, it's a peaceful well kept grounds which is always a bonus these days. Got to see a canal boat on the move too!
Enjoyed a very pleasant and relaxing stroll around this lovely park. There is a kids play area, history of salt making and a canal lock and its history. Update on 28.3.26 Added some more photos and a video.
If you like birds there's many species walking, swimming, or flying around. If you don't like 'em this is reminiscent of that Hitchcock film. Family friendly, swings and things, a statue of a Bishop (I seem to remember) which is placed behind bars, for some unknown reason, interesting 🤔 waterways complete with locks 🔒 (not that sort), and tables with chairs and grass to sit on. What more could a person want from a park?
Vines park is by the river and canal, and has a long history associated with brine extraction and salt production in the local area, from the 18th century to the 20th century. The canal had been filled in, but was restored in 1973. Today is the August bank holiday weekend (2025), with the Salt festival on all weekend.
