Visit websiteA great open campsite with plenty of activities and space for kids of all ages. It's the second time we've visited and really enjoyed it. The only down side I would say is the toilet/shower blocks. One has been updated, and is great, but the other desperately need doing. This would improve the site no end and bring more people. As improvement suggestion EV chargers would be a massive plus.
Only gave 4 stars because the gift shop and restaurant were not available on the Friday night, and despite being the first bank holiday weekend, staff openly admitted they hadn't stocked anything yet. Other than that, service staff were amazing, bathrooms are a little dated but they are CLEAN, pitches have lots of space so your not crowded and there are loads of activities onsite for kids (and the grownups)!
Just spent the weekend here with my son & Grandson. What a fantastic time we all had. The campsite had everything we needed, including (which made my grandson's weekend) fire pits to use. All the toilets/showers were spotless, all the staff were so courteous and helpful, it really is an amazing place. Being able to let my 5 year old grandson out in the pitch black with my headtorch was a delight to see. Thanks to all who work there, we will be back. Just for info, my Son & Grandson were in a roof tent, i have a micro camper.
We originally booked for 3 nights but only had 2 we left early. On the first night my little boy asked a worker/volunteer he was a older guy he asked him where the park was because we got there late afternoon and by the time we got set up it was a little past 5pm and all the activities was closed the guy replied and told my son no we do not have a council estate park go climb a tree! I was so shocked at what he had said. I dont know why they advertise as "acres of fun" because all what it is is acres of fields. My son got bored quite quickly because there is nothing to do past 5pm there should at least be a park for kids to play on. Everything is spaced out i dont know why. the toilet block was a good 10 mins walk to where we were staying and be prepared to fetch a torch to find your way around in the dark. The toilet block was filthy i didn't use the shower because i dont think i would have been any cleaner coming out. And for the kids disco 😂 there was just workers just enteraining there selfs instead of the kids. Its fair to say i will never return again.
A Fantastic camping Stay at Walesby Forest – Highly Recommended! We had a brilliant experience at Walesby Forest during October half term. From the moment we arrived, the staff were incredibly helpful and knowledgeable. Morag, in particular, was so patient and kind—she gave us loads of useful information that really helped us make the most of our stay. The site itself is packed with activities, which kept the kids thoroughly entertained. They especially loved roasting marshmallows over the fire pits—such a lovely touch! The campsite was surprisingly quiet for half term, which suited us perfectly and made for a relaxing break. Prices were very reasonable, and the little shop on site was great for essentials and treats. Every staff member we spoke to was friendly and engaging, which made the whole experience feel welcoming and well-run. We’ll most definitely be visiting again. Thank you to everyone at Walesby Forest for making our stay so memorable!
