The Wetlands reserve is divided by Forest Road into two areas. The southern area is entered from Coppermill Lane, and after crossing Forest Road, the northern area may be exited at Lockwood Way. It is a pleasant walk along the banks of the reservoirs, however note that there is little seating or shade along the route.

Lovely reclaimed land, with a sweet cafe. We saw loads of geese and goslings! Would have been 5 stars except half the land was closed for refurbishments- no one's fault but obviously meant we couldn't close to the smaller canals. Will have to come back!

Great spot for a walk around the reservoir, bird watching, some even have picnics and hang out at the little pier spots, I'd not particularly recommend that as it's a nature reserve, but it is a lovely calm place with some beautiful wild life. It's large enough for a decent walk but not too large that it's a chore, there is usually only one route open at a time unless you have a London Wild Life Trust permit (given yearly via a lottery system) or a fishing permit and day ticket). The cafe is decent, a good selection of teas, some juices and sodas, cakes, coffee, freshly made sandwiches, there is also a shot with books, cards, binoculars and more! It gets a little busy at weekends when sunny, but often it's rather calm compared to parks!

A great place to see big sky in Greater London. The pathways could do with a cycle lane and some benches would be helpful for those who might need/want to sit occasionally to contemplate the relative peace of this beautiful location.

If anyone looking for calm, serene place/nature to enjoy, Walthamstow Wetlands is the place. A little oasis in the bustling London life! Simply beautiful 😌 No tickets needed to enter but bear in mind timing especially for the winter months short daylights.
