Enjoy a vibrant 4-hectare town centre park featuring an innovative play area, skate park, community garden, and riverside walks along the scenic River Wandle.

Wandle Park is a beautifully redeveloped 4-hectare town centre park that provides a verdant oasis in an area of Croydon with limited green space. The park's centerpiece is the River Wandle, which flows through the grounds and creates tranquil vistas along its banks, offering peaceful spots for reflection and nature appreciation. The park offers diverse recreational opportunities suitable for families with children of all ages. Highlights include an innovative play area and dedicated children's playground, a skate park for older children and teenagers, ornamental gardens including a rose garden, a community garden for gardening enthusiasts, and a trim trail for fitness activities. Additional features such as tennis courts, a pond, and a charming bandstand add to the park's appeal. Wandle Park is particularly welcoming to families, with on-site facilities including a café and toilets. The park has achieved Green Flag status for excellent management and maintenance. During summer months, the park hosts a program of cultural events including poetry, music, and theatre performances. The volunteer-led Friends of Wandle Park group actively works to enhance the park's flora and fauna, making it an engaging community space. Located in Waddon with convenient tram access via Route 3, the park serves as an accessible destination for outdoor recreation and family enjoyment.

⭐⭐☆☆☆ My wife and I often visit Wandle Park because it is a beautiful place to walk and relax. We really enjoy spending time here. However, I am giving only 2 stars because I hope this review will draw attention to two important issues. First, it is very surprising that such a large public park has no public toilets. People are forced to use the bushes, which is unpleasant and unhygienic. This is especially difficult for families with young children and elderly visitors. Second, there are far too few benches. Many elderly people, parents with children, and visitors simply want to sit down and enjoy this lovely park, but there are not enough places to rest. I hope the local council or government will read reviews like this and improve these basic facilities. With public toilets and more benches, Wandle Park could become one of the best parks in the area.

It’s a lovely, large park with plenty of space, but unfortunately parts of it felt quite uncomfortable. There were groups of men sitting near the trees being very loud and obnoxious, which made the atmosphere feel unwelcoming. I personally wouldn’t feel comfortable visiting alone, and it didn’t feel like the kind of place where children could freely roam without close supervision. The park would also really benefit from some play equipment for kids, as there’s currently very little for them to do. It has a lot of potential, but improvements to both the environment and facilities would make it much more enjoyable for families.

such a wonderful local park! quite close to all the shops in West Croydon and the tram stop makes it accessible to get to. the river is quite dirty and unmaintained but other than that the park has some great play facilities for kids! there's a sand pit, swings, a big slide — basically everything a kid could wish for!

Beautiful park with children's play area, bandstand and café. Plenty of benches to sit down on and take in the views of the park. Great for dog-walking too.

Decent park for runners and anyone wanting to get in a laid back walk. Not the biggest of parks, but has a play areas for kids and a couple areas to workout (pull ups, dips, etc). It has a good area for tennis and basketball. Would recommend for the locals. It could do with some work though 🤷🏽‍♂️
