Visit websiteGreat selection of plants, from smaller flowers to trees. The gardens offer a nice break from browsing and are good for finding inspiration and checking out how the plants will grow. It was a bit strange to me that there is a charge to see those gardens but nonetheless worth a visit. The cafe/restaurant is ok, with wide selection of cakes and lunch options, but it gets ridiculously busy and the wait time can be a bummer. The restaurant has a dog friendly section but the shop is not dog friendly which was a disappointment too.
The soup and food were absolutely beautiful — really fresh and full of flavour. The lady wearing the tartan skirt was a fantastic waitress: attentive, friendly, and professional. She really made the experience lovely. Overall, it’s a nice place with a great atmosphere. However, some of the other staff could have been a little more attentive. Also, my friend was addressed as “love,” which she personally didn’t feel comfortable with. That aside, we enjoyed the food and would return.
A great place for a family brunch! And a magnificent Victorian Garden next door, maze, other worldly water features, mysterious bear pit, Downton Abbey vistas, nooks and crannies and all.
A True Yorkshire Gem – So Much More Than a Garden Centre! I cannot recommend Wentworth Garden Centre enough. It is hands-down one of the most beautiful and well-curated destinations in the region. Whether you are a hardcore gardener or just looking for a fantastic family day out, this place has it all. Why It’s Five Stars: The Plants & Quality: The selection of plants, shrubs, and trees is extensive and clearly cared for by experts. Everything I’ve bought here has thrived. The Historic Walled Gardens: You have to visit the gardens! They are breathtakingly beautiful and provide a peaceful escape. It feels like stepping back in time. Shopping & Gifts: The gift shop and lifestyle areas are filled with unique, high-quality items you won’t find on the high street. It’s my go-to spot for birthday and Christmas shopping. The Food: The restaurant and tea rooms are excellent. The afternoon tea is a particular highlight, and the quality of the local produce is evident in every bite. Family Friendly: With the petting farm and play areas, it’s one of the few places where the kids are just as entertained as the adults. The Atmosphere: The staff are incredibly knowledgeable and genuinely friendly. Despite how popular it is, the layout feels spacious and relaxing. It’s set in such a historic, picturesque location that you really feel like you’ve had a proper "day out." Verdict: If you’re anywhere near South Yorkshire, you have to visit. It’s a gold standard for garden centres!
Loved my visit here. The garden centre is fantastic and I only wish I had more money to spend in there! Massive choice of homeware, clothing, food and gardening supplies plus really nice eating places. There’s a small petting farm and also Wentworth gardens to visit. I really recommend a visit. Dog friendly too.
