What impressed me most about West Park was its versatility. Whether you're seeking a peaceful spot to relax with a book, enjoying a leisurely walk or picnic with friends and family, or engaging in outdoor activities, the park caters to all. The expansive open spaces provide ample room for sports and games, while the winding paths invite exploration and discovery. The amenities at West Park are equally impressive. Clean and well-equipped play areas make it a perfect destination for families with children, and the presence of benches and picnic tables offer ample seating for visitors to unwind and savor the park's natural beauty. The West Park in Jarrow is a small yet well balanced Green Flag award winning park, maintained by the local council and The West Park Community Group. This popular park plays host to many group activity clubs as well as community events held all year round. The park is well maintained with only minimal fare wear and tear and almost no graffiti at all within the park. The trees and plants here are mature, but it's evident that this park has ongoing improvements throughout. It's a popular area for children to come and play sporting a quaint little park that always seems to be fairly busy. For those looking to use the park for exercise it has a few pieces of outdoor gym equipment. Off to the far end of the park they've set up a nature area in the hopes of attracting butterflies and other things of interest. delving off the beaten tract into this part of the park can really take you away and just for a few moment you can forget your surrounded by the hustle and bustle of the outside world or even the park its self. I really cannot fault this park, it's clean and tidy with plenty of seating and a host of varied areas. This park sets an excellent standard cramming in bowling greens, a band stand, various sports pitches, a delightful play area as well as gym equipment. The park would benefit perhaps from a community shop and some toilets. I would encourage anyone in the area looking for a park to visit here.
