Visit websiteIt was my first visit in the park. Very nice place to spend a little time with family. Places for activities with children, court for play football or simply nice walk through. My attention get wooden fences and sculptures. Brought nice vibes feelings and memories. I felt well and satisfied I could visit the park.
About West Smethwick Park and Pavilion: West Smethwick Park has recently undergone a massive £4.5 million Heritage Lottery funded transformation. This large and much-loved park has three large event fields and a hard-standing small events area. The brand new Pavilion features event spaces for hire, suitable for event control and production offices. There is excellent Wi-Fi and touch screen technology as well as an onsite cafeteria. The park has some events electric provision, hard standing areas and large vehicle access as well as hard standing parking facilities for up to 300 vehicles. There is a large lockable compound within the park suitable for creating a bone-yard and for storing event production vehicles and equipment. For outdoors events, West Smethwick Park has a premises licence for up to 1000 and they are happy to work with organisers and our Council licensing team to gain their own event licences for the space. Location: Park Road, Smethwick, B67 7JJ My personal review: Lovely location to visit to just unwind and take in the fresh air and wildlife at the park. Gone down the pan a bit lately, with rubbish constantly around the park, especially the car park, where I have seen car owners clearing out their cars with litter, oil cans and filters throw around. Plenty of gas bottles about still, and lastly a message for Dog owners - CLEAN YOUR DOG SHIT UP OFF THE PATHS. Either show your mutt how to crap in the bushes, ( Not on the grass or the football pitch where children play ) Or don't have a pet, how would you like me to walk dog shit through your house ? Oh you wouldn't 🤔
The park is in the process of being made over. We walked around it yesterday and we were impressed with the work that is going on there. From what I could see there is a lot of work happening that will definitely benefit wildlife. A bog area with a board walk the stream has been opened up. The lake looks much better with the edges all maintained and planting around it. The large building that I believe will include a coffee area and possibly food looks nice, made with wood panels. Lots of trees being planted, along with shrubs and annual flowers. Considering it was a cool day we heard a green woodpecker along with other birds we also noticed ground nesting bees (harmless they can't sting, before you panic.) Our granddaughter enjoyed the swing and slide in the play area. There are football pitches, cricket areas and a basket ball court with parking provided. I look forward to the park opening so we can access all these areas properly.
This place is so pretty and clean. Me and my sisters just drove around to find a place to walk and relax and we came across this park. Didn’t expect such a clean beauty. The ducks were also fascinating to watch, though I do wish they cleaned the lake more often.
