Great museum and an unique experience. You can access pretty much any part of the bunker, and touch many of authentic items found there. Definitely worth a visit, especially if you're history fan.

Fascinating in parts but couldn't honestly rate higher than a 3. Entry is expensive at £17.50, 765 THB, there was so much more to see for free at the Museum of Liverpool - albeit that appears lavishly funded by comparison. Staff were friendly and explained where to go. On entry there was a large schools group in the first room. I bypassed them and into the remaining rooms. Later I felt envious they were getting some great anecdotes to bring things to life This is missing walking through rooms of communications equipment. Radios, teleprompters, morse code, encryption, switchboards etc. It makes sense seeing where all the information was coming from to feed into the main operations. It does though become a little dull. The story of the Battle of the Atlantic, and how it was monitored, supported and organised via the Western Approaches is an important and fascinating one of course. The longest military engagement of WWII. The main operations room is the best part of the tour. I did really enjoy a separate room of the lesser told story of the Nordic Convoy.

Lovely Easter visit to Western Approaches. Staff were friendly and welcoming. New exhibitions since we last visited. Great that the Wrens are included. Kids loved the bath Churchill may have washed in and trying on the arctic uniforms. They also liked the old recreation shops and the information about different set ups, like Stella stealing her friend's bloomers! Very unique place to visit. Interesting to see Liverpool's role in the battle of the Atlantic. Parking opposite very convenient. Advance tickets online slightly cheaper than pay on the door.

We loved our visit at half term. I'd never heard of this hidden gem by the Liverpool docks, but the work to recreate the wartime feel was excellent, and full of so much fascinating detail. It works for all ages from 5 up. Would highly recommend.

Strange experience, the exhibition was pretty good, however having ving visited other ww2 secret bunkers and Bletchley Park, I felt this site was overly pretentious about its role in turning the tide of war to the extent of diminishing other efforts. We were upsold tickets for a ferry tour. Which we could use as the last ferry sailing was 4 pm, after we had viewed the exhibition. We were also overcharged and the gentleman lounging behind the desk was quite abrasive which immediately soured the experience. If you are going in the afternoon abd want to do the ferry do that first, get the ferry tour out the way as its last sailing is 4 and the exhibition is open until 6.
