assumed from the sign it was an abandoned medieval village. It turned out to be a hilly area with modern concrete markers showing where the homes once stood. It is useful to see, but from the car park it is around a 20-minute walk downhill. My view: it is not worth a special trip unless you are already in the area or have a strong interest in that period of history.

Nice bit of history hidden away in the rolling Yorkshire Wolds. Little walk down from the car park ( EH website say's £2 but no signs or details on site). We went for a hike around and finished off at the village so we got to see it from afar. Interesting past, and the church is definitely a highlight of what remains

Our first visit to Wharram Percy. The website said £2 to park but I couldn't find any way of paying. The satnav took us a very convoluted route, eventually I ignored it and used the road signs! Old skool! The path from the car park to the village is easy enough to navigate. Only a 15 minute walk. But unsuitable for wheelchair users and buggies. Plenty of Information boards to read as you wander around. The 17th Century farmhouse and the ruins of St Martin's church are the most visible features. A fascinating place. Very restful. Absolutely dripping in history. Dogs must be on a lead as this farmland is used by livestock. A great way to spend a couple of hours. No toilets. No refreshments.
