Totally amazing place. We during a boys weekend to Keswick. The cycle routes are one of the best things I have ever done. We hired the electric assisted mountain bikes they sound expensive when you see them but wow are they worth the money for the experience they give you. We did the blue route twice and both sections of the red route. Cafe offered a welcome rest and drink after. Make sure if you dont cycle much to take a good pair of gloves and to protect neither regions a pair of padded cycle shorts or underwear would not go a miss as its a fast and bumpy ride down once you get to the top, better than any rollercoaster thats for sure. One other tip dont have a really heavy night out in Keswick before you ride. Its not a good idea (is it J😂). Should also say car parking is pay on exit with numberplate recognition cost us about £12 for 4 hours ish. Would AB for picking that one up. O also take loads of water you will need it and also if you dont do mountain biking much like me the rocks are really slippy you may want to avoid them and i expect if its raining it will be real slippy.

We visit on a bank holiday weekend. Met up with family who managed to find parking space. We arrived on our bikes from local camp site but after asking as to locking bikes up there were no bike racks to chain bikes to when not cycling. We did enjoy the forest trails but the signposting was a little vague. Overall this is a great day out with Go Ape or family trails as well as lots of different cycle and walking paths through the forest

Great forest with huge variety of walks and some spectular views on the way up. Parking is mainly national forestry rates free for members theres a few free spots.

Beautiful walk through the woods. I'll definitely be back with the family and mountain bike. Highly recommend if staying in the south lake district. Cafe very nice too large selection of food and drink got the sausage roll which really hit the spot.

We love visiting the Lakes, and Whinlatter is a good place to visit with youngsters. It’s also dog friendly and the forest paths allow access onto the fells soeciallyLords Seat and Barf. We used the car park as our access point to do Lords Seat and Barf. The only downside is the carpark is expensive. Specially for anyone who wants to spend 2 hours or more there.
