This is a really cute park for the family to have fun together for an hour or two. There's a free car park (opposite Morrisons). It's got a tarmac football/basketball court on one side of the car park, next to it is bowls (for members), and on the other side of the car park is a nice playground, which then leads to the rest of the park, which is like 3 separate areas, all of which are very pretty and nice to walk/run around. It's small (probably about 5 mins to walk around), fun, pretty to explore, play hide-&-seek, play football etc.
It's a small park styled very nicely. It has a bowling green, a children's play area, seating area and a car park. It's also a lovely place to walk your dog
Equipment is good if you can get on it. When we went there was about 10 teenagers on and around the tyre swing. They were sat on the floor of the other swings so the kids couldn't go on, smoking, swearing and throwing their rubbish on the floor near a bin. That is not the kind of atmosphere I want to take my 4 year old granddaughter to.
Nice little park right next to the metrolink station in Whitefield. Has plenty of climbing equipment for young and older children including a climbing wall. Definitely worth a visit and lots of free parking places around.
"Presented to the inhabitants of the district by Alfred Grundy of Underley," Whitefield Park was first opened in 1890. So the plaque on the entrance goes. The plaque is just above an unexplained, unworking water pump. Go through the gates onto a cobbled path way. The park has a feel that someone pops by to see it's okay every so often, but not too often! Surprisingly there are several parks around that were just donated to people. "Here you go, have this park, I don't know what to do with it". In the park is a kids' play area, swings and things. A fair bit of safe activity for kids of all ages. Nicely spaced out so plenty of running around area. In the non kids' play area is a nice space to walk around, plenty of pathways and grass. At the rear is an unfortunately poorly looked after garden area. There could be a nice flower area but no one seems to be bothered. It is kept relatively clean, no overstrewn rubbish. Not ideal for picnicking but a nice enough walk and a good kids' play area. It could be wonderful, as a little park goes it's good enough. My 2 year old would give it 5 stars, but that's just for the "weeeeeeeeeeeeee slide".
