Lovely wetlands with a nice birdhide with views across the site. Spotted lots of birds on our visit and enjoyed the peace and quiet of the area. Parking is easy with 10 minute walk down to the viewing areas

As much as I love bird spotting and going on long walks , unfortunately my sister doesn't have the ability to walk as I can, ( even with this I'm able bodied and still struggled to get around and kept stumbling/slipping) ,my sister is in a wheelchair, and we were happy to read that this place was "accessible"it is blatant DISRESPECT To call this place accessible, it all all mud and uneven paths with random shrapnel and slabs of what seemed to be concrete scatterd around, her wheelchair was stuck on multiple occasions and she could hardly get around even with mine (+another person) helping, i find it disgusting that anyone would call this place accessible, all the huts we managed to make it to had stairs meaning she couldn't even get up them after our efforts getting over the so called "path" , and we had to keep going until we found one with a ramp , even so , we made it all the way, just for that ramp to be so steep that she almost fell backwards and could have been injured, this place either needs to change and get actuall accessible pathing and huts , or unlabel itself as being "accessible" , if you are thinking if going here while having a disability that makes it hard to get around , i do not recommend coming here at all ,

Wetlands itself beautiful but don't expect a scenic walk as (understandably for wildlife) the walking route is completely set back from the wetlands. Great for the wildlife, but absolutely zero view. Not suitable for younger children as the walk is way too far. First part from car park to wetlands uneventful, no views. Look out points are well maintained and worthwhile, just not as accessible for walkers who struggle with mobility.

Lovely place to enjoying watching the wildlife and enjoy a walk round the site. There are plenty of birds to see and hear along the paths with viewing platforms and a hide that provide excellent great views. A circular walk option allows you to walk back along the Trent and Mersey Canal.

A first visit to the reserve and certainly not the last. Used public transport to get there, which was easy. The bus stop was by the entrance to the reserve. The reserve it's self was a pleasure to walk around. There was plenty of birds to see and hear along the paths, There are 2 open viewing platforms and 1 hide that provide excellent views of the reserve. The only slightly disappointing thing is that part of the circular walk is close to a very busy/noisy stretch of road. But that's a minor issue as the walk is along a canal. I would highly recommend visiting here at different times of year to see the changes in the seasons and wildlife.
