The museum has been welcoming visitors for over 15 years and is run entirely by dedicated volunteers as a registered charity affiliated with Aviation Heritage UK and the Royal Air Forces Association. Visitors can explore an extensive collection of original memorabilia and artefacts spanning multiple display themes, including the Home Front, RAF Fighter Command, The Blitz, Battle of Britain, RAF Bomber Command, US 8th Air Force, Luftwaffe history, the Russian Front, and D-Day operations. Really good. Really surprising. Very different to a lot of museums and run by a small team of enthusiasts. The exhibits are all fragments of aircraft and associated bits, that come from all over the world. The great sense you are left with is of the destruction of world war II. A very characterful and eccentric place. Highly recommend.

Throughly enjoyed my time here today. Spoke about all sorts with the friendly, passionate and knowledgeable volunteers. This is a real museum, where things aren’t all behind glass cases. You can get in cockpits, handle decommissioned rifles and put on a helmet. Loved how they really linked the artefacts to men and women who served. Some brilliant and really human stories, as well as some great hardware. Would recommend to anyone with a love of history, or under the age of 10!

I had a wonderful visit to the Wings Museum near Haywards Heath. The museum showcases an impressive range of original and iconic wartime items, all presented and preserved with great care. You can really feel the history behind each piece, and the displays are both engaging and informative. The staff were incredibly friendly and welcoming, clearly passionate about the museum and happy to share their knowledge. Their enthusiasm truly enhances the experience. Overall, it’s a unique and meaningful place to explore—definitely worth visiting if you’re in the area or have an interest in history.

This museum is so densely packed with interesting curiosities. The way each display is arranged is incredibly evocative. Highly recommended for anyone with an interest in WW2 history.

I divorced this lovely museum after watching an episode of Four in a Bed on Channel 4 and being on a mission to discover and go to every wartime museum, this was my next stop. What I want to immediately tell people is this little gem is like no other as there is no polish here when it comes to the displays and they come as they are which was a first for me and something I instantly fell in love with. Plane wreckages, bent propellers, rifles found off the coast of Normandy and even parts of the feared V-2 rocket. With them like this they haven’t lost their unique stories and makes this museum stand out as still being able to tell their unique stories while showing them as they came. I would recommend this to anyone who loves history and who want to remember those who Sir Prime Minister Winston Churchill described quote; “Never was so much owed by so many to so few”
