Amazing day out. Went with my 12 year old and walked around for hours. The canoe safari (£10 per canoe) was such a fun experience highly recommend!

Visited on a weekday early in June. Apart from one or two school visits the place was almost devoid of people. The weather was overcast and windy, but the wildfowl were not worried and we saw a great range of species. The staff active on the site were able to chat with us and we got a marvellous insight into the operation of the visitor complex and the birds seen captive in the aviaries.

We visited Slimbridge Wetland Centre yesterday and had a really enjoyable day from the moment we parked up in the adequate carpark. The site is vast and well maintained, with plenty of signposted pathways allowing access for all abilities, viewing hides for enthusiasts, and many opportunities to get close to a wide variety of birds and wildlife. The scenery is beautiful, peaceful with plenty of seats dotted around, making it easy to spend several hours exploring and learning. All the staff were friendly and knowledgeable. The café was a nice place to stop, providing hot and cold treats from a substantial meal to delicious looking cakes (the meze platter is recommended). Overall, Slimbridge is a great destination for nature lovers.

Always a great family day out. Have been many times over the years and would definitely recommend it. The little ones love feeding the birds from hand and the older kids love the canoe safari.

We had a really enjoyable day at Slimbridge Wetland Centre and would definitely recommend it. It’s a large site with plenty to explore, and even after a full visit we didn’t manage to see everything, so we’ll be back again. It’s a great spot for wildlife lovers, especially if you’re into bird watching. There’s a good mix of migratory and resident birds, and plenty of other animals to see as you walk around. It’s also ideal for photographers and videographers looking to capture wildlife or practise their skills. The centre is very family friendly and accessible, with wheelchair access and disabled toilets available. It was quite busy when we went during half term, but it didn’t take away from the experience. The staff were friendly and knowledgeable, which made the visit even better. The shop is a bit on the expensive side, but that’s fairly typical for places like this. Overall, a great day out with lots to see and do. Highly recommended.
