Carols & Steam Evening at Avon Valley Railway

Carols & Steam is part of the Christmas programme at the Avon Valley Railway in Bitton, Bristol.

An evening steam train that stops at each station down the line so everyone can get out and sing carols, with a brass band and the railway's own choir.

What to expect:

• Two evenings: Saturday 5 and Sunday 6 December 2026
• “the gates are open at 18:30”, the train departs at 19:15 and is back at Bitton for 21:00
• “The journey will last for approximately 1 hour and 30 minutes (including stops)”
• Passengers alight at Oldland Common and Avon Riverside to sing carols together
• Accompaniment from the Bristol East & Kingswood Brass Band
• A festive piece from the Avon Valley Railway Choir at each station
• “All passengers will also enjoy a complimentary hot drink as well as a seasonal refreshment of a mince pie or shortbread star”
