Christmas Daytimes is part of the events programme at Beamish, The Living Museum of the North, in County Durham.

A festive journey through time, from a Georgian Christmas at Pockerley to a technicolour 1950s one. The Edwardian street is decked for the season and the 1940s Farm keeps the home fires burning with ration recipes and handmade gifts.

What to expect:

  • Saturday 21 November to Thursday 24 December 2026, museum open 10am-4pm
  • Free with an Unlimited Pass or Friends of Beamish membership; otherwise museum admission applies
  • Father Christmas' Grotto at Rowley Station Goods Yard: £10 per child (0-16 years), includes a small, traditional gift
  • Two adults are welcome per child at the grotto; additional adults £2.50, book in advance
  • Under 5s do not need a museum ticket but do need a grotto ticket to visit Father Christmas
  • Freshly baked treats from the bakery and market stalls for presents
  • Closed 25 and 26 December
