Christmas Tree Festival is part of Advent and Christmas at York Minster.
Experience York Minster’s popular Christmas Tree Festival, set inside the medieval Minster, with 100 trees on display in the cathedral’s stunning Nave, North Transept, Chapter House and Lady Chapel.
What to expect:
- Saturday 28 November 2026 to Tuesday 5 January 2027, during general admission times
- Trees decorated to individual themes by local businesses, schools and charities
- Add your own Christmas message to a tag on the festival’s prayer trees
- Opens at 10am on 28 November with a light switch-on at Minster Mash-Up, the service for children and families
- "Entry is free with a sightseeing ticket."
- "Please note, the trees may feature flashing lights."
