The Santa Express is part of the seasonal programme at the High Legh Miniature Railway, which runs through the grounds of High Legh Garden Centre near Knutsford in Cheshire. The volunteer-run miniature railway is decked out for Christmas: "A magical ride with a visit to see Santa", through landscaped scenery and into the grotto at the end of the line.
What to expect:

- Running 10.30am to 4pm, closing at 3pm on Christmas Eve
- "NO BOOKING REQUIRED" – turn up on the day
- "Visit Santa and his elves in his grotto, £5 each."
- "Each child receives a small treat from Santa."
- "Tickets are just £3.00 each, and if you wish to ride again, keep your ticket and ride again for £1.00!"
- Card payments are accepted; there is a picnic area, and the garden centre has a restaurant, free parking and baby change
