About this event
Set Sail for Storytime is part of the programme at Portsmouth Historic Dockyard. Captain Compass, Eddison and Ratty lead an interactive storytelling adventure aboard HMS Warrior, inspired by a different children's book on each date, combining theatre, storytelling and STEM.
What to expect:
- Saturdays 24 Oct and 28 Nov 2026; 30 Jan, 20 Feb, 27 Mar, 24 Apr, 22 May and 26 Jun 2027
- Stories read in the Captain's Cabin at 12.15, 1.15 and 2.15pm
- Books include Someone Swallowed Stanley (24 Oct), Ada Twist, Scientist (28 Nov), The Boy Who Sailed the World (30 Jan) and The Storm Whale (26 Jun)
- Then hands-on activities at the Learning Centre in the Victory Gallery, 12 to 3pm on most dates
- Games, audience participation and imaginative challenges for families
- Free with a valid museum ticket
