About this event
SteamLights returns for 2026 with the immersive story Somewhere over the Rainbow: an evening steam train ride past illuminated lineside displays, narrated by the Good Witch. It is a wholesome, lovely family event that can be enjoyed during the festive period but is not traditionally festive.
What to expect:
- Selected evenings, 21 November to 30 December 2026, from Sheffield Park
- Rainbow-lit station entrance, then a meet-and-greet and switch-on ceremony with the Good Witch
- Displays based on the four seasons, with narration and music in each carriage
- A 30-minute stop at Horsted Keynes while the engine turns round
- The whole experience will take around 2 hours.
- Santa does not appear this year
- Leave buggies with station staff; flashing lights in one display
