The Winter Wildlife Detective Trail is part of the programme at Leonardslee Lakes & Gardens near Horsham, run across the February half-term. Collect an activity booklet at reception and follow the trail map around the winter gardens.
What to expect:
- Sunday 7 February to Monday 1 March 2027, 'Available during opening hours'
- Six wildlife stops: uncover mysterious footprints, match them to the right animal and learn how wildlife adapts to the colder months
- Self-led, so you can go at your own pace
- Design your own detective backpack in the booklet to enter a competition; hand it in at the Garden Shop or The Clocktower Kitchen
- First prize is a one-year Leonardslee Family Membership, voted on social media
- The Clocktower Kitchen is open for food and drink afterwards
- 'Free with Garden Entry & for Leonardslee members'; free for under 2s
