Stopped to stretch the legs on the drive back to Scotland and took a short detour to see the famous landmark in real life. Easily accessible with parking and wheelchair accessible. Parking is right next to it and although there isn't really that much to see, it's a nice spot for a stop. There's also some memorial trees adorned with lovely tributes just to the feet of the Angels gaze.

Wow... very impressive, I found it quite humbling and can understand why it brings pride to people in the north of England. Reasonable size free car park, 2 electric charging points, ice cream van on the Monday lunchtime we visited in June. Lovely picnic site if you ignore the sound of traffic. 2 min walk from the car park. Good pathways slight hill up to the statue but only short way. Dogs allowed but mindful of busy roads next to it. Worth a visit if you're in the area.

I've always seen that Angel of the North when I've been passing it on the train. It's absolutely beautiful up there and the size of the structure is absolutely gigantum. There is a lot of space to relax and chill and enjoy the sun and enjoy the view. Lots of parking and the ice cream van there at the same time. There's a little field where some kids were playing football which kept them occupied. Just next to the structure is a lot of bushes with all keepsakes, momentos and notes to love one's who had been lost. It was a brilliant idea to remember loved and lost ones. There is a bus that gets you here from Gateshead bus depot within 15 minutes. The bus is the 22. The only thing that let's it down, is there is no toilets. Overall a great experience

What an amazing and HUGE statue. Free parking (could be restricted on time, I'm not sure). There are a couple of Fastnet chargers in the car park, but 5 minutes down the road there are Arnold Clark charger which are great and much better price.

Visited the Angel of the North and it’s such a beautiful place, especially when the sun is shining. The sculpture looks really impressive in person, and the surrounding area feels peaceful and open. It’s a great spot for a relaxed picnic on the grass, with plenty of space to sit and enjoy the view. Getting there is also really easy, Go North East bus number 21 runs frequently and stops nearby, so access is very convenient even without a car, there is a small car park also available on the site. There’s often a coffee van and sometimes even an ice cream truck around, which makes the visit even nicer on a warm day. It’s also a fantastic location for drone photography as well as Instagram shots, the scale of the Angel of the North really stands out from above and makes for some striking, memorable photos 🥰 Overall, a simple but lovely place to spend some time outdoors and take in one of the North East’s most iconic landmarks.
