Visited for my son’s 6th birthday as he’s become interested in birds. Most falconry places near to us have died out or become zoos with few birds so we travelled 1.5 hours to get to BORC. We thought it was great. A good variation of owls etc to look at and a great display… despite the hot weather, the birds did a great demo and the falconers were funny and interesting. The odd review says there isn’t a lot there and it smells; I’m not sure what these people are expecting for the price and the fact it’s an owl and raptor centre. It’s not a zoo, so don’t expect anything other than birds. We thought it was good value and considering we visited on a really hot day the smell was minimal so I don’t understand people whinging about the smell. Our 15 year old daughter was a fan of Jeff and our 10 year old daughter loved crumpet, so it had something for everyone. The red legged bird that does a snake killing demo was hilarious and brilliant as was the bird landing on my husband’s head. Rage cooled us off flying over our heads too. Overall, we had a great day and got exactly what we were hoping for. Finished off with a nice ice cream and a play on the park for the kids in the garden centre.

We booked a raven experience with Mark and it was absolutely first class. Mark is bursting with information and explains everything so well throughout. The centre is amazing with such a great range of birds, some we had never seen or heard of before. But the star of the show is Doodles, what a character! We can't wait to come back in Summer and spend some time here. The entry charge is an absolute bargain, and there are so many other things around it to make your day out, garden centre, restaurant, record shop. Thank you for such a memorable day we will never forget.

Brilliant place. We visit a lot of zoos around the UK and this place did not disappoint. Wonderful collection of birds, all very happy and their individual needs catered for in specialist enclosures. It was very quiet when we went (a wet weekday in November!) but we met a lovely member of staff called Tony. Tony’s knowledge and bond with the birds is wonderful to see and he was able to answer all of our questions and even let us watch him exercising the birds even though no flying displays were scheduled that day. Well stocked gift shop with some lovely items for children and adults alike. Thank you all for a wonderful experience, we will definitely be back in the future!

Booked a VIP Keeper Day for my bird crazy girlfriends birthday and can honestly say we had an amazing day from start to finish. Mark , Ben and Tony were excellent throughout giving us background knowledge of the centre , showing us around then stepping into the day to day workings of how they care for the birds at the centre. When it came to us flying the birds all instructions were clear and they guided us through everything step by step and with each bird they brought out they would impart some knowledge specific to them and how they are helping on conservation projects. Overall a brilliant team and amazing centre well worth a visit. We will be back , Thanks guys !

Visited today and was absolutely blown away by the range of beautiful birds of prey and even more so by the dedication of the team working there. Regardless of the weather and technology, these guys put on such an amazing display. I was very impressed by the price and getting up & close with the birds, the guy making sure everyone got a close fly! Very educational and amusing 😄 I couldn't recommend them higher ❤️
