Beach was lovely and large bay so lots of space. Not many rocks. Dunes at rear of beach provide a sort of seating platform if you don't take a chair. Very gentle sloping sand into the sea. Access to beach straight through from council car park. They offer 1 hour free parking but up to 3 hours costs £7. No disc scheme. Car park next to The Landing bistro costs £5 for 3 hours.

Huge beach with windswept dunes. Had an almost 2 hour walk along this beach and headland in glorious sunshine with a freezing northerly April wind. Follow the coastal path for miles if you need more of the outdoors in coastal Northumberland, it's Grand !

Idyllic. Plenty of parking, free for blue badge holders. Easy access and dog friendly. Its a beautiful bay, toilets and a cafe nearby too. Sadly, i am now being advised that the council are suggesting all dogs should be kept on leads. That would be absolute cruelty. Just seeing what an idyllic adventure beach walks are for dogs and humans alike. I am curious to know for what reason this is being proposed. If it is concern that folk are not cleaning up after their dogs then by all means enforce the carrying of dog poo bags and fine those not adhering to this. The beach is such a safe and glorious environment for an off lead dog walk, it would be dreadfully sad, for all concerned
