One of the nicest beaches weekend too, beautiful water, sand and surrounding rocks, dunes. Bit of a steep hill (shortish) that's stepped with a path next to it that turns into a sandy dune. It will be hard work getting out if you have lots of stuff, but worth it. The beach changes so much during the tide. Free parking for National trust members, toilets and an ice cream van was there. Traffic might get silly during the weekend in summer as the roads pretty tight (with plenty of passing places) lead to the carpark.
We went to Bosherston Lily ponds today and from there walked onto Broadhaven beach. We parked our car in the very busy metered car park (£8/day). There were toilets close by. The narrow path to the beach is about 3/4 mile and takes about 20 minutes. You walk alongside the lily ponds. There are two routes which you can take to get to the beach. The soft sandy beach is very scenic and reminds me, when I first saw it, of similar beaches in the Algarve. There is a large pool area, where the sea collects. Families were playing in it which was very useful as the tide/sea was far out. The only negative point for me was the fact that several dogs were on the beach and apart from a couple, had been let off their leads. The owners let them swim and play in the pool area where other children were enjoying themselves. There was one moment when one dog ran up to a child. This action frightened the child who began to cry for quite some time! The owner called to the dog several times! Also, along both paths to the beach (we walked a different route going and coming back to the carpark) there was quite a lot of dog mess, which wasn't acceptable to leave on the paths as different bins were provided for waste outside the toilet building!
Large car park with plenty of car parking £5 charge for all day, quite narrow lanes to get to so not suitable for larger veichles. Has toilets and an ice cream van during summer. The beach is a short walk to get to but a bit of a climb to get out of. Clear sands and seas such a beautiful place.
Beautiful beach very clean. I was taken away by it. The water was like a tropical island and the sand was golden. The walk along the river to it was wonderful and as its national Trust it was accessible and there were toilets and coffee shop and pub close by. I would recommend except I dont want it to get too crowded
Absolutely a fantastic beach. I parked in the National Trust car park which was free for members, if not you have to pay. It's a wonderful beach the tide was out when we got there. At least you can carefully on the rocks. The beach was really clean and sandy.
