My 10 year old son and me had a fantastic first kayaking experience at Outer Reef, North Beach Tenby. Our instructor, Jonah, was very professional and took care to explain everything that we needed to know as complete beginners so we felt safe and secure. We enjoyed seeing the coastline and wildlife from a different point of view - the peregrine falcons were a particular highlight. We had an absolutely amazing time today kayaking and stand-up paddleboarding! There were three of us, and our guide, Ben, made the whole experience unforgettable. Ben was incredibly patient, friendly, knowledgeable and genuinely passionate about what he does. He took the time to explain everything clearly, taught us how to use both the paddleboards and kayaks with confidence, and made sure everyone felt comfortable throughout. He also showed us some stunning hidden beaches and fascinating caves, sharing interesting facts and stories along the way. The two hours flew by because we were having so much fun! I honestly couldn’t recommend this team highly enough, especially if you’re lucky enough to have Ben as your guide. If I could give more than five stars, I absolutely would. I had three beginners surfing lessons with them in end of June at Freshwater West. It was a fantastic experience and I would come back every time I had the chance. The teachers were very friendly and knowledgeable and put a lot of emphasis on safety and a positive environmente and helped me a lot improving my (limited) surfing skills. I already had some lessons in Teneriffe and Portugal, with Outer Reef it was the safest and best supported I ever felt. Also the beach is huge and was almost empty I every time was there, which of course is also a plus. The waves were beginner-friendly, I cannot juge though how they would be for intermediate and advanced surfers. The beach offers a small parking spot and a well-kept toilet facility. There are no showers or changing rooms available. I would recommend the school and the beach for everyone that wants to start or improve surfing in an relaxed, friendly and safe atmosphere. We had a brilliant family morning with George paddleboarding from Stackpole Quay to Barafundle Bay…great guide and instructor, learnt lots about the history of the area aswell as the wildlife and coast. Would highly recommend planning this trip as part of your visit to Pembrokeshire. Thankyou guys.
