Fabulous little zoo. Advance tickets were £10 - an absolute bargain ! There's plenty to see, with lots of childrens play areas and activities, cafes and the obligatory gift shop. Toilets dotted round the site, no height barriers with 2 carparks. Everywhere is spotlessly clean with very healthy looking animals. Lots of 'up close' viewing. A little ones show (sounded noisy and fun !!). Various 'encounters' available. A brilliant little zoo.

Well it hasn't much changed since being Tropical Wings, except that the Butterfly house is now a Bird house. There is ample parking available. There is a safe pedestrian walk way all along one side of the carpark. Entry was quick and easy as we had prepaid online. Happy, helpful staff. The toilets/ bathrooms definetly need ripping out and updating. Holes in walls, plumbing sounds like its two flushes away from flooding, staining and marks on vanitry wear and general lack of sanitation. However there are plenty of animals that need care and enrichment, they seem to be getting what they need. However there is definatly room for improvement regarding, enclosure sizes (needing larger areas to roam and fly) and conditions, general enrichment for animal health and welfare. I can not comment on the available food or drink as we didn't buy any. There was a cafe and afew shacks for snacks and icecreams. There is the souvenier shop on the entrance/exit. Which should be more visible on the online shop. They might sell more stuff then.

What a little hidden GEM! I booked The VIP animal experience for My fiancé for his birthday treat and oh my what an amazing day and experience we had!! Our zoo keeper guide for the day was Natalie, she was absolutely Fantastic, extremely knowledgeable but most importantly passionate about her love for each and every animal at call of the wild zoo! You could see by the way each animal responded to their name being called that this small gem of a zoo treats each and everyone of them with the respect and love they deserve! We spent over 4 hours with Natalie being introduced to and learning all about each and every animal we encountered with lots of laughing along the way! We did not feel rushed or pressured in any way to hurry up the VIP experience. Natalie treated us like we were one of the call of the wild family, nothing was too much and her fab photography skills left us with many beautiful photos from the day. Thank you all of the team!! We had such a memorable day it felt extremely personalised and we were certainly made to feel like true VIPs!! We can’t wait to come back soon, next time as a family of 3!!!

Lovely zoo- easy coverable in 3 hours- with loads of unique and unusual animals/birds that we have not seen before at the other safari’s and wildlife parks that we have visited. The animal cages were neat and clean- and the animals were mostly in pairs or families- so they seemed happy. Loads of parking, The zoo shop has lots of variety, and there is a cafe where one can sit and enjoy a meal. Lovely experience overall. Recommended.

Love coming here . Tickets are a lot cheaper compared to bigger zoos like Colchester . Got an annual zoo pass which is great value for money. They are expanding and improving the zoo all the time. A lovely new cafe has been built with lovely interior. The bird of prey displays are amazing and I love going to all the animal talks they do. Keepers are very friendly and knowledgeable. Not too busy and very peaceful to walk around the place . Lovely collection of animals to see:
