Poor customer service and cold pool. Booked softplay via app and was told we couldn't take our son in 30mins early (we have always been able to do this in the past) as we never stay much longer than 30 minutes. Tried to cancel (which cannot be done via the app) and asked for a refund. Places Leisure do not offer refunds. The standard of service has dropped dramatically since Places Leisure has taken over the leisure facilities in Northumberland. All swimming pools are cooler, there is no more freshly made food in the canteen and the prices have increased. I would not recommend visiting.

We had a great morning at clip and climb. Staff were professional and helpful. The climbing walls are easy to access yourself, with safety measures to ensure you can clip yourself in and out, so no waiting to climb.

We’ve came here a few times over the past couple of years, since our daughter came along. We’ve been to the swimming pool, soft play and attended a birthday party. The swimming pool is really good- very child friendly and great when the water features are on. The changing rooms to the pool, however, can do with some TLC as they are run down and very cold. The soft play is good and we have no concerns about this. After attending a party here, I don’t think we’d book one ourselves. We were put in a run down room, expected to serve the children ourselves. The food wasn’t great either. On another note, one time we came to swim and the pool was closed but we weren’t notified until we got there. They changed my booking but since then I’ve had issues with my account. When I spoke on the phone about it they said I didn’t have an account. I definitely did as it’s what I’ve been using. They said they’ve set one up again with my email and I haven’t received anything. This is what’s preventing me from making anymore bookings.

Played squash there in October 2025. Three nice courts with good viewing. Showers and changing rooms feel like a bus stop away, but everything was clean. Very big leisure centre with easy parking outside

Excellent leisure space for families! Clip n climb, soft play, cafe, swimming, bowling and a gym all under one roof. We went to soft play for an hour and a half(ish) before a quick refuel at the cafe and then a fun swimming session with music, floats and just mucking about on the splash pads. Little one didn't want to get out! There's ample parking outside, free for four hours with no return that day. Only thing I could fault, if I'm being really nit picky, is that the changing rooms were freezing! Not a deal breaker though, we kept our towel by the poolside to wrap the little one up after her shower. Would definitely recommend. **Just be sure to book online before you go as 'Places Leisure' is cashless and spaces for sessions are limited so book up quickly. Creating an online account is really quick and simple though. Don't forget a pound (returnable) for the locker if swimming!
