It's a decent museum if you have an hour to spare and fancy a free visit, some of the displays could do with a revamp and maybe build more of the areas heritage, especially about people who have made the area famous from an historic pount of view, otherwise it's just a building with a few rooms that could be anywhere

Pretty good museum overall, the free entry aspect was pretty good personally. The exhibitions were good, they had interactive displays, which were quite detailed with information. They had a fair about of local teesside history in there too, but how it was advertised, I was expecting a bit more if I'm completely honest, it'd be nice if there was an exhibition dedicated to just teesside history. The exhibitions that were there were ones to do with fossils, the world wars, BIRDS, pottery, and an art display (which were good, but not quite teesside history). Overall, a good museum, but I think it'd be greatly improved if more local history was included

Lovely museum, great collection of pottery and nice displays. The bird eggs and taxidermy room is especially impressive. Cute tea room and friendly staff. We parked at the free car park next to Albert Park and walked through to the museum. Albert Park also a really spacious green space.

Great place to visit to know about history of middlesbrough specialy for kids. Free entry and great welcome from beautiful staff.

Honestly can't believe we haven't visited here before. The museum is one of the best we've seen in a while. Over 2 floors which we couldn't believe. It is really accessible with a lift, clean toilets and overall really good exhibitions. Free entry making it great for families. There's a tea room inside and a shop. Our favourite was the street complete with a school, Odeon and pub and the Earth in Space exhibition which is proper Jurassic Park vibes.
